North Sea Giant have installed 3 battery systems and are now the first vessel of its kind able to operate in DP class 3 only 1 Diesel Engine running and open bus-tie breakers on AC side.

By installing 3 additional power sources that is constantly “running” we have increased the power plants robustness and made the vessel much more operational- and fuel efficient.

The battery installation is giving us fuel saving in all operations modes and reduces the Emission to air significantly.

The system has been fully operation since March 2019, and the reduction in fuel consumption so far exceeds our most optimistic assumptions.

• Average consumption reduced 17% in transit mode.
• Up to 35 % reduction in DP operation.
• More that 320m3 fuel saved since installation.
• Reduced emissions by 740 ton CO2
